When you’re a secret – even from yourself – how do you face the harshest reality?
Cat Miller looks to address this issue in her Forbidden Bond series first offering, Unbound.
That’s the quandary Danielle Vaughn faces when she realizes something is different about her, and she’s changing in ways she can’t rationalize. She’s also found herself in the middle of hotty central (I know – totally unexpected in one of these books, right?)
…Danielle is half vampire. I won’t tell you the other half, but the whole mixture is pretty complex.
*****OK IT’S SAFE AGAIN*****
She meets Chase, and they’re inexplicably drawn to one another. But there are too many questions, too many secrets and too many hurdles for them to be together, despite their obvious longing otherwise.
So what happens?
Well, a lot.
Enter college friends, vampire friends, parents, siblings, vampire society and military (you read that right), a prophecy, a psycho vigilante vampire and a whole lot more.
What does this all mean?
Well, quite simply, Cat makes us root for Danielle. She’s trying to figure it out while staying alive, and shelter herself from feeling for Chase what she knows she shouldn’t… but somehow, we just want her to catch a break. Unfortunately, over and over, she doesn’t. Nothing goes her way and she can’t get what she needs to be happy and safe.
Of course, we assume that somewhere along the way she will. Without a spoiler, I will just say that you won’t expect how things go because Miller will keep you guessing. That’s kinda why I love her. ❤
This series is not a new release, though according to her web site, more vampire nation books are on the way. Good thing, because the world is compelling, the characters warm and the sex is pretty hot. (Ya, I said it. RAWR.)
If you’d like to snag Unbound, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited right now… so you have no excuse NOT to do it =)
