Everett Monroe can’t keep his eyes off his gorgeous tenant.

He’d like to put his hands on her too, but she’s prickly, closed-off, and gives new meaning to the word disgruntled. In other words, she’s his perfect match and he’ll do anything to make her see it too.

Willa Hill has finally left her teen runaway past behind and wants a fresh start—alone. Men are nothing but trouble and she’s had enough man-trouble to last a lifetime.

Too bad her irresistibly sexy, nerdy-hot landlord doesn’t agree.
When their mutual yearning becomes a white-hot fling and passion crosses carefully drawn, albeit one-sided boundaries,

Everett finds himself in love and Willa finds herself in a pickle.
Because, unfortunately, when she returned to Green Valley, her problems came too.

When the past she escaped crashes into the future she finds herself wanting more than anything, will Willa stay in Green Valley?

Or will she run away again?

‘Carpentry and Cocktails’ is a full-length contemporary romance, can be read as a standalone, and is book #5 in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

“Sometimes the best part of building something new is tearing down what stood in its place.”-Everett Monroe

Nora Everly is fantastic at crafting characters that have both depth and charisma, as well as evoking such vivid emotion, that it becomes entirely too easy to both fall in love with the characters and get lost in the plot. Carpentry and Cocktails the latest installment of the Green Valley Library series in the newest Smartypants Romance Launch and will become your next unputdownable read.

Nora Everly’s characters are the meat and potatoes of her story: as they should be. Willa Hill is a woman who has lost the trust in herself through no fault of her own. After a few years trying to escape some seriously scary demons, Willa finds herself back in Green Valley tending bar for her aunt. She has the hefty task of both trying to find herself, and clean up the mess she left behind all those years ago. What Willa doesn’t realize is that she’s got friends and family on her side regardless of the past, which is an incredible lesson that all of us should take to heart.

Everett Monroe is the dreamy yet nerdy carpenter of our collective dreams. He is both woefully in love with Willa, but cognizant enough to know that patience is key to winning her over. I’m not entirely sure how Nora keeps on upping her swoon-factor in the men she writes for her equally enchanting heroines. With every book I read from her the characters get even better. You’ll want to collect all of Nora’s men like Everett’s collectible figurines.

Willa and Everett’s relationship is not at all like a sophisticated martini: smooth and to the point. It is more akin to a good shaken margarita: it takes a little work but once you get to it, you can’t get enough (or is that just me with margaritas?).

Essentially what I’m telling you is this: Nora Everly’s Carpentry and Cocktails is a nuanced story. It has the craftsmanship of a classic tale, and you know it will stay with you for awhile. I think that is what I enjoy most about Nora Everly’s stories. She creates timeless stories with layers of emotions, and characters that are both memorable and oh so real.
