I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn't expect her to become my friend. I didn't expect to fall in love with her.
The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend--a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.
Now, I can't wait any longer. I'm tossing out the rules.
If this book was lingerie……it would be a black, sexy number.
Torre is known for her hot, steamy romances and Love in Lingerie is no different. But instead of instant combustion this is much more of a slow boil. From the moment Trey interviews Kate they both feel the instant attraction, but Kate needs the job and is already engaged and Trey needs Kate to save his company. They both fight the attraction by turning it into friendly bantering and a blossoming friendship. They can only fight it for so long before the sexual tension really starts to boil. Leave it to Torre to make sure the reader feels the building tensions and frustrations as well as the welcomed relief and satisfaction when they finally end up together (no spoiler there – you knew this had to happen).
If this book was lingerie… it would be the piece that always makes you feel good when you wear it.
Torre really has a knack for writing contemporary adult romances. While her steamy scenes are really captivating its her story lines and build ups to the relationships that seem to set her apart. Her writing takes you to those memories where you feel the attraction, the doubts about the others feelings and the awe that that person would chose you. I always leave her books with a happy, contented feeling and an optimistic belief that love and toe-curling intimacy can exist.
If this book was lingerie… it would be part of a Victoria’s Secret collection.
Love in Lingerie is another great book in Alessandra Torre’s collection of adult contemporary romances. Victoria’s Secret has done an incredible job branding itself. Just say the name and sexy girls strutting the runway with angel wings comes to mind. It really doesn’t matter what the girls are wearing cause they are all oozing the same kind of sexual attraction. The same really can be said of Torre. She has built a reputation as a writer in this genre and has yet to let us down with any of her books.
Tanya’s love for books has been a lifelong passion that she likes sharing with others. Reading is also the thing that relaxes her after a day of juggling the many responsibilities that come with being being wife to an amazing man, mother to four great kids spread around the world, business manager, and farm hand on their place in southwest Missouri; home to Akaushi cattle and a menagerie of pygmy goats, horses, chickens, dogs and cats.
