If there's one thing Gillian Hodge never wants to see again, it's a man on a motorcycle. Her last encounter with one left her right hand crushed, ending her promising career as a concert pianist. But as she heads to Rainbow's End Resort, a sudden thunderstorm causes a motorcycle to crash in front of her. When TJ Benjamin's wife died, he lost more than his best friend; he lost his faith. He's spent the past year wandering the country on a motorcycle, trying not to think about his future. When he finds himself stranded with a busted bike and a reluctant rescuer, he has to wonder about God's sense of humor. Can this woman without a future and this man running from his past find romance in the present? Or are they too tied to the way life used to be?
Love can find you at life’s lowest moments….
Amanda Cabot’s third book in her Texas Crossroads series
On Lone Star Trail
is a wonderful journey from life’s devastating loss to the love, peace, and purpose that God has for those who love him.
I wasn’t sure how much I would like jumping in on the third book of the series, but the book easily could be a stand alone novel. It definitely wet my appetite to read the first two.
I loved how easy it was to read Amanda Cabot. Her style is smooth and polished and I quickly forgot I was reading a story, instead I was swept up into the world and lives Amanda created.
As I followed Gillian and TJ piece back together their shattered lives and attempt to find that sense purpose they once had, I found myself remembering the times when life kicked me in the teeth and slammed the door in my face. And just like Gillian and TJ, I too tried to fix it on my own without turning to God first. It wasn’t until God crossed their paths that they began to realize that they needed to “let go and let God”. Once they did they received all that they were wanting and blessings beyond…and isn’t that just the way God works. He meets our needs then overflows the cup.
Spoiler…in case you haven’t guessed this is a chickLit. There is very little “action” and no adult scenes but that does not mean there aren’t heart thumping moments. The progression of Gillian and TJ’s relationship is magnetic and will keep you hooked till the end. And when you close the book, there will be a smile on your face and a happiness in your heart.
Great characters, great story, great author!

Tanya’s love for books has been a lifelong passion that she likes sharing with others. Reading is also the thing that relaxes her after a day of juggling the many responsibilities that come with being being wife to an amazing man, mother to four great kids spread around the world, business manager, and farm hand on their place in southwest Missouri; home to Akaushi cattle and a menagerie of pygmy goats, horses, chickens, dogs and cats.
