I, Faith Parisi, love my life. I have the best job—resident sex-advice diva for Visage magazine—I have the best friends, and I live in the best city in the world. Things are pretty damn fabulous. That is, until Henry “Harry” Sinclair III comes crashing back into my world like a bad case of herpes. I hate the way Harry’s lip curls in contempt whenever he sees me. I hate his bright blue eyes and those inexplicably offensive dimples. I hate his stuffy English accent and the stick that’s permanently jammed up his aristocratic ass. More than anything, I hate that he’s now my boss. But my professional prospects start to look up when a chance at writing Visage’s big summer feature falls into my lap. Success won’t be easy. I’ll need to let go of all my inhibitions—not that I have that many of those—and jump, stiletto heels first, into a hedonistic new world. An exclusive, secretive world, filled with leather, latex, and Manhattan’s elite. Pulling this off will take every ounce of daring I have, and every ounce of focus. I can’t afford to get distracted by anything, least of all my new boss, his arrogant mouth, or the way the ice between us seems to be slowly melting away…

When the Queen of Dark Romance sits down and puts her mind to writing a romantic comedy, as a reader, I know Tillie Cole will add her own brand of zing. Thoroughly Whipped does not disappoint at all. Tillie Cole delivers on all promises as Thoroughly Whipped is full of comedy, sexy scenes and doesn’t skimp on the romance one bit.

I loved that meeting the heroine of Thoroughly Whipped happens almost in tandem with meeting the hero. Faith and Harry are completely the classic case of opposites attract. Where Faith is completely confident, maybe a little brash, and definitely unfiltered, Harry is the total opposite due to his upbringing, circumstances, and obligations. Even though both Faith and Harry come from different backgrounds, they both know what they want, and are passionate about what they do.

Part of the comedy aspect of Thoroughly Whipped is the almost slap-stick situations that Faith finds herself, and the fact that Harry inevitably shows up much to Faith’s absolute horror. Which to be honest, it is nearly impossible to make a good impression on your boss-to-be when he continually pops up when you’re at your worst.  I love the big emotions that Tillie Cole uses in Thoroughly Whipped. In order to get a coveted summer Feature in Visage, Faith needs to take a risk and go inside a secret and highly exclusive sex club in Manhattan. Harry on the other hand, needs to confront his personal demons, and find a way to show his father that he is more than capable of making smart decisions for their media company.

The twist in Thoroughly Whipped is particularly delicious, but I will say that inevitably Faith and Harry both end up needing to make some big decisions. Part of what makes this a wonderful book for Tillie Cole fans is that it doesn’t skimp on the addictiveness that every story of hers possesses.

Thoroughly Whipped by Tillie Cole is what Fifty Shades of Grey could and should have been. It is the perfect take on the billionaire romance trope, and yet it still reads really fresh and fun. Thoroughly Whipped is utterly page-turning, and you should absolutely read it immediately! You will thank me. I guarantee it.
