Opposites don't attract. They ignite…

The small Montana town near the Kooskia Reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. But when her peace is shattered by a break-in and threatening phone calls, it's clear someone back in New York knows where she is. It's time to plan her getaway and fast—but first, she needs to tie up a few loose ends and find out exactly what the town's sexy cowboy sheriff is hiding.

Sheriff Quinn Lodge has enough demons of his own to know when someone's hiding something, and he's determined to uncover what's beneath Juliet's uptight city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time. But when their chemistry goes from fizzy to full-on explosive, things start getting complicated.

How can Juliet stay beneath the covers with Quinn, when doing so means blowing her cover?

Rebecca Zanetti has mastered the recipe for romance books in any setting.

I’m convinced that she could whip up a spicy and lovable couple under any trope. Historical, contemporary, paranormal – no challenge.

As a long time reader of her books, it’s embarrassing to admit that Under the Covers was my first time reading from her Montana Mavericks series. Previously published in 2013, Under the Covers is book two in the four book series. Speaking from experience, it’s perfectly enjoyable as a standalone read; however, I do intend to go back for Sophie and Jake’s story. I’m not particularly drawn to the cowboy-type MC*, but it really worked for me in Under the Covers.

*Completely forgot about Harry Connick Jr. in Hope Floats. smh

Juliet and Quinn are opposites that not only attract each other, but the whole community.

It’s very sweet to see a small town rally around their sheriff and his love interest. Quinn knows from page one that Juliet has big secrets, he just doesn’t imagine they could hurt his career as sheriff. So when he takes his time earning her trust, he takes a bit of time to wrestle with her truth. It doesn’t however take his community nearly as long to point out when he’s being stubborn. It was an amusing add-on into his and Juliet’s story.

Romance readers will find love, passion, inevitable conflict, and a struggle for resolution that they crave in Under the Covers by Rebecca Zanetti. The icing on top is the sizzling scenes between Juliet and Quinn when their boundaries are down, and not just behind closed doors. Wink wink.

I wish I could get my hands on the next story, Rising Assets, right now!
