Revenge. Raised to be my father’s weapon against the Coven that took away his sister and his birthright, I would do anything to protect my younger brother from suffering the same fate. My duty forces me to the secret town of Crystal Hollow and the prestigious Hollow’s Grove University—where the best and brightest of my kind learn to practice their magic free from human judgment. There are no whispered words here. No condemnation for the blood that flows through my veins. The only animosity I face comes from the beautiful and infuriating Headmaster, Alaric Grayson Thorne, a man who despises me just as much as I loathe him and everything he stands for. But that doesn’t mean secrets don’t threaten to tear the school in two. No one talks about the bloody massacre that forced it to close decades prior, only the opportunity it can afford to those fortunate enough to attend. Because for the first time in fifty years, the Coven will open its wards to the Thirteen. Thirteen promising students destined to change the world. If the ghosts of Hollow’s Grove’s victims don’t kill them first.
“For those who love them villainous.”
Book Dedication by Harper L Woods
Aside from the fact that I love anything Harper L Woods writes, this dedication hooked me from the beginning! Willow is resilient and strong willed. She was raised to do one thing, take down the Coven. But when she gets to Hollow’s Grove University she finds things aren’t always as they seem. I love a good academia romance, especially set in a collegiate setting where everyone is *ahem* of age. Enter Alaric Grayson Thorne, a man full of much mystery and puts the sweltering heat into the term slow-burn.
“You think I would allow anyone but me to touch you?”
The Coven is a bit spicy without being off the charts. Quite tame for some of the other books I’ve read by Harper L Woods. However the heat is still prevalent. Add in the paranormal of witches and vampires and you have yourself a gothic romance full of mystery and intrigue. I highly recommend diving into this story without knowing too much about it, so I will leave you with this:
I wanted to tear his throat out. I wanted to tear his clothes off. The fact that I wasn’t even sure which one I wanted more terrified me.

Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’m a Maryland girl at heart, but currently live in South Central Pennsylvania. The greatest loves of my life are my husband, my three daughters, and our Alaskan Klee Kai, Yoshi. The best time I find to read is when my kids are busy with one of their numerous extra-curricular activities and my husband is gaming. Let me tell you, a reader and a gamer make an excellent partnership! Aside from quality time with my family, I believe my day is best spent with a good book in one hand and an iced coffee in the other. My hobbies include reading books, buying books, and adding books to my TBR. And yes, those are three separate hobbies, don’t @ me. I’m obsessed with YA fantasy, extra-spicy romantasy, and everything in between. I’m insatiable when it comes to reading and if I love a book – I devour it. It becomes a part of me forever.
