Rachel continues to use flashbacks and the present, like she did in Constant, to develop the story of Caro and Sayer’s relationship and the events that force them to play a high-stakes confidence game, one that their very lives depend on. If that isn’t suspenseful enough, Rachel throws in a few plot twists and turns for good measure. 
Just when you think there is a break for your hear rate to return to normal Caro and Sayer reconnect. Their inability to fight the inexplicable and combustible connection they have always had for each other makes your heart race for a totally different reason. Time and distance have only heightened their awareness of the almost unquenchable need they have for each other. But, will this unmistakable love be enough to overcome the ultimate con, the one that has been built upon lie after lie and involving layer upon layer of manipulation and deceit, which their lives have become?
Rachel is one of my favorite adult, contemporary fiction writers. Her stories are always interesting and unique and filled with the right amount of sexual tension and passion. She never fails to thoroughly entertain!
