Straitlaced freshman Zooey Cartwright has arrived at UCLA determined to have a heck of a lot more fun in college than she did in high school. What’s the first item on Zooey’s agenda before classes start in two days? Losing her pesky V card. She’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, so where can Zooey find the right guy to do the deed and move along without a backward glance? At a party thrown by a bunch of football players, of course. Enter Tyler Caldwell. A beast on the field and off, cocky as heck, and often wearing T-shirts with sayings like “God’s Gift to Womankind,” Tyler is most definitely not boyfriend material. After a make-out session with Tyler leaves Zooey entirely unsatisfied, she is determined never to see him again. But her schedule lands her in not one but two of his classes, and it doesn’t take long before Tyler and Zooey have reached an arrangement for Tyler to teach Zooey exactly what she wants to know―and a whole lot more she never bargained for. Can Zooey surrender her body to this bad boy without giving him her heart, too?

“You’re the answer to a prayer I didn’t even know I had.”

I’m fairly new to Lauren Rowe and what I’ve read so far I’ve definitely liked. I haven’t dug into her series yet, but I have heard AMAZING things about them, so you better believe I”ll be checking them out. Her Misadventures novels are all standalone. They run the gamut from enemies to lovers, hot rockstars, virgins, new adult and more. And they manage to both have substance AND be fairly quicker reads.

In this book, Zooey Cartwright is a freshman at UCLA. She lost her mother at age two. Loves acting and has a phenomenal singing voice. And oh yeah, she’s still a virgin. With the help of her roommate, they hatch a plan to rectify that situation.

Enter Tyler Caldwell, the hotter than hell bad boy of the football team. He’s certainly not boyfriend material. Has no interest in a relationship. I mean he even advertises that on his snarky T-shirts. But he seems like the absolute perfect choice if you’re looking to be deflowered.

Somehow though what develops between Zooey and Tyler becomes less about a hot one night stand and morphs more into an overwhelming love. But both of them have dreams. And Tyler is adamant that neither of them compromise on the futures they always envisioned for themselves.

So there will be times you will sob for what seems like the end of their happiness. (Or maybe that’s just me?) And times when you will laugh at the sheer hilarity of Ms. Rowe’s wit. But as in all of her Misadventures books, she won’t leave you hanging and a HEA is guaranteed.
