Nicole “Nic” Monroe is in a rut. At twenty-four, she lives alone in a dinky apartment in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana, she’s just gotten a DWI, and she works the same dead-end job she’s been working since high school, a job she only has because her boss is a family friend and feels sorry for her. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven years—since the day her older sister, Kasey, vanished without a trace.

On the night Kasey went missing, her car was found over a hundred miles from home. The driver’s door was open and her purse was untouched in the seat next to it. The only real clue in her disappearance was Jules Connor, another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. But with so little for the police to go on, both cases eventually went cold.

Nic wants nothing more than to move on from her sister’s disappearance and the state it’s left her in. But then one day, Jules’s sister, Jenna Connor, walks into Nic’s life and offers her something she hasn’t felt in a long time: hope. What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything they’ve ever known.

“Hey! I have just read an amazing book by Ashley Flowers called the Missing Half and you might be familiar with Ashley.
She is a famous podcaster for Crime Junkie.
It’s her second book and I was really excited to get my hands on it because her first one really threw me for a loop.
I really thought I could, you know, do what I usually do and predict what was coming next in a thriller based on the little hints they leave behind.
But she’s really good at surprises.
That stems from how much true crime is just rattling around in her brain.

The Missing Half is about two women who basically become friends simply because they both lost their sister.

And one of the women thinks that the cases are connected.
And so they begin to work together to try to find out what happened to their missing sisters.
One was recognized by the media and one wasn’t really.
And so they do a lot of connecting and re interviewing people and the stories start to come together.
And ultimately I found it to be a good suspenseful thriller, but also just kind of a wow factor for how far a, you know, a person would go for their sibling needing to finally get closure on what happened to their missing sisters.
And it gave those two women a bond because they really could understand each other’s pain in a way that the rest of us couldn’t if we hadn’t mysteriously lost a sister.
And then ultimately, as per usual, you know, the end is kind of an explosive, holy cow kind of a feeling.
And again, it really just tests the love and support of sisters.
The Missing Half by Ashley flowers is out May 6, and I cannot recommend it enough.
It is absolutely a must read suspense thriller.”
