The Blacklist meets The Profiler in this edgy, gripping thriller that’s perfect for of Laura Griffin and Jayne Ann Krentz!
Men are dying in the Pacific Northwest, their bodies found near churches, charities, and counseling centers—each with valentine candy hearts shoved down their throats. They’re good men with families and community ties—or so they seem until Laurel Snow and her team begin to investigate. Then the case takes a shockingly personal turn when the father she’s never met, a former pastor, turns up among the dead.
Now, besides solving her father’s murder, Laurel is on the hunt to discover the truth of his past. Complicating things is Laurel’s troubled half-sister, Abigail, a brilliant sociopath determined to prove that they’ve both inherited their father’s malignant narcissism.
Assisting Laurel is Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, a dangerous loner whose reliance on gut instinct puts him at odds with Laurel’s coolly analytic approach. But the choice may be moot when the killer hones in on Huck’s own dark secrets—putting him and Laurel squarely in the crosshairs.
“Be prepared to stay up all night…Rebecca Zanetti takes you on a thrill-ride, pitting characters you love against impossible odds.” –Christine Feehan, New York Times bestselling author
“You Can Die” is a very aggressive book title, but I swear it makes sense for the series!
If you didn’t read “You Can Run” and “You Can Hide” by Rebecca Zanetti, go run to wherever you buy books. This is an edge of your seat thriller and you’re lucky that you could binge the first two right before book three, “You Can Die“, is released. The first two books are on Kindle Unlimited as of this post!

Our main character is Laurel Snow, an FBI agent with a well beyond average intelligence. She has an identic memory, a genius IQ, and an extremely rare condition in her eyes that draws way too much attention. Laurel has a special charm to her that comes from her inability to decipher emotions in others. She doesn’t always pick up on subtlety and sarcasm. Fortunately for her, friends and family are very direct with her. In fact, if not for the love of her family growing up, she might have turned out a lot like her half-sister Abigail.
How do you handle a super intelligent psychopath for a sister?
Laurel is certain that her half-sister Abigail is responsible for murder. The struggle she has is being able to find evidence that proves it. Abigail is manipulative of those around her, and always one step ahead of Laurel. She keeps involving herself in Laurel’s life in appropriate ways. She drops little breadcrumbs that keep Laurel forever suspicious of her, but Abigail is much too brilliant to leave simple evidence behind.

In “You Can Die“, Laurel is hunting a new serial killer that is leaving their male victims outside of church buildings. All the while, she never stops looking at Abigail’s actions. The investigation into her sister is always continuing in the backdrop. In true crazy sister fashion, there’s plenty of annoying hints that Abigail drops along the way.
“You Can Die” was a thrilling extension of Laurel Snow’s story chasing killers in the snowy Pacific Northwest. I appreciate that each book provides a level of resolution while continuing the storyline of the characters we love and hate. Naturally, a reader wants to be surprised when the killer is revealed. Zanetti delivers that shocking punch of surprise once again, and it’s why I will pick up every one of her books. She never lets me down!
