Bryce isn’t your average reporter. She was once a well-known news reporter for a TV station in Seattle, but she left when she realized that delivering the news of the day isn’t the same as hunting down leads and finding those stories herself. She’s determined to pick apart why the Tin Gypsies dissolved, as well as figure out why the old MC is tied to a new crime that has rocked her hometown of Clifton Forge. Her only problem is that Dash (son of the only suspect, and heir to the now defunct MC) is in her way, and she can’t shake him. I adore Bryce’s tenacity, as well as her vulnerability because it makes her seem more true to life. I love a female character that I feel like I could be friends with. I
Dash is a man who is fiercely protective of those he keeps in his inner circle: his family, his friends, and those most loyal to him. He doesn’t like the idea of Bryce getting the upper hand on him, so he attempts to play dirty to stay one step ahead of her…by any means possible. I love how Devney Perry writes extremely devious plots. I adore it when the characters are stubborn, yet attracted to each other. Gypsy King is the best kind of enemies to lovers book. It’s my favorite kind of story where the readers get the physical heat, but the emotional relationship is still in the works.
