Revved to the Maxx by Melanie Moreland is a brand new standalone by a new-to-me author. When the Queen Bee offered this book up to the Hive, I jumped at the chance to read it! Can you blame me, based on that cover and blurb?
Revved to the Maxx gave me all the same feels and emotions as a favorite MC series from Kristen Ashley. Fans of that series will love Melanie Moreland two main characters, and their angsty, but super spicy romance that is full of twists, turns, gruff alpha vibes and sweet sassiness.
Poor Charly. She’s truly had the worst string of bad luck. She needs a job, a new place to live and basically somewhere safe. So when she stumbles upon one of the most outdated (but perfect nonetheless) notices for an Office Assistant, she jumps at the chance for a new start. Not without poking some fun at the obviously old-fashioned guy who posted the ad…duh.
Maxx is old-fashioned, set in his ways, and is still licking his wounds from an incident that he would rather not think about. What you don’t think about can’t hurt you, right? Totally wrong. Maxx is the victim of what I like to call “ignore your feelings until they explode” syndrome, but he also understands that he needs an assistant to help get his business and keep his home in order.
I love when Charly and Maxx meet for the first time: sparks fly, and they both just let themselves feel for the first time in forever. It also makes the fact that the next day they come to realize that they just slept with their new boss/employee even better. Whoops! I loved Revved to the Maxx! While sometimes I felt like Charly’s attempts at riling up Maxx were juvenile (and almost always inevitably ended up getting frisky) I did really enjoy how the personality differences between the two main characters ended up being the aspects that healed each other the most.
Revved to the Maxx by Melanie Moreland releases 9/3 to Kindle Unlimited, and was such a delightful read that I look forward to exploring more of her back catalogue! Congrats on a fabulous new book!
