Tinks
From the moment I befriended him, I set a conspiracy in motion.
A revolution.
Kill Peter Pan.
And I was their ultimate weapon.
I was also none the wiser, falling hopelessly and irrevocably in love with him as the years went by.
Just as they hoped I would.
But their plan comes to a screeching halt when Peter vanishes into thin air, something I'll learn has nothing to do with Rosewood at all.
You see, Peter never truly loved me...because he loved a wench instead.
He lied to me, he used me, he left me, and he broke me.
Forever altering me in ways that incite revenge when Hook sweeps in with revelations and the ultimate truth.
Peter may have turned his back on me, but in the end, he and his precious little Wendy will choke on every last tear I once shed.
And I'll have Hook to thank for that.

Hook
It's no secret I always despised Peter Pan.
A common threat amongst the factions, I should've killed him when I had the chance, long before he sank his claws deep into Tinksley's heart.
But his death at my hands wasn't what the plan called for, despite how I felt for her.
I'd always been drawn to the girl, innocently enough at first...until that vile abomination marked her with his stamp, unleashing a sense of propriety I had no rights to.
Didn't matter--he had her...and I wanted her.
Then like magic, he disappeared.
I thought my time had come, but the road to owning Tinksley's heart comes with a price.
A price so dark and depraved it strips her of her purity and awakens the beast within.
All because of the truth.
Sometimes, there is honor in revenge, and it will be my utmost pleasure to watch as Peter Pan finally meets his maker.
His maker who will soon be my Queen.

I don’t think we’re in Neverland anymore…

When I saw that a series was debuting featuring dark and twisted retellings of fairy tales I made a sound in my excitement that defies human description. That is my JAM! Fairy tale adaptions have gotten popular in recent years but this went way beyond our usual suspects to include characters and stories that aren’t always remembered, but are near and dear to my heart. Our first sinister tale is Venom by Dee Garcia which has cast childhood favorites Peter, Tink and Captain Hook in a tragic love/hate triangle.

Our full-size fairy shares many traits with her animated counter-part such as her overwhelming adoration of Peter Pan. But unlike the hero we are used too, Ms. Dee’s version of Peter is a social outcast who has won no favors with the locals. Peter and Tink share a secret relationship that leaves her overwhelmed and conflicted about her feelings. Peters sudden disappearance throws her into a tailspin and Ms. Dee captures the transition from denial to grief to hopelessness in a way that tugs your heartstrings from your chest. In her desperation she makes a jarring decision that she hopes will end her misery.

Enter Hook stage left.

He has been admiring Tink from afar, being one of the few to know about her relationship with Peter. Once she takes a flying leap towards a path that may not be what she anticipated he steps in to be the hero she didn’t know she needed.
As she adjusts to her new normal there is some resentment she must overcome before she can fully accept her future without Peter. Hook helps her come to terms with a new way of life and appeases her need to get closure before she can move on, and as they work together a bond forms neither can deny.

The ending though… that freaking ENDING!! Fair warning, It’s not for the faint of heart. There is a shocking twist that I couldn’t have guessed with a hundred chances. It’s always a good day when a girl gets the last word with her Ex. And in a turn of events that sets my heart a flutter it looks like we have a SEQUEL in the works!

This tale was the opening act for a series that is guaranteed to put us through the ringer in the best possible way. If this was any indication of what’s to come I will be one-clicking my heart out from now until the last one releases! 5 Stars!
