Love left me off its to-do list.

I date. I'm all for giving guys a chance. I've just never met the one.

Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they're real. I'm sure that's a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.

Did I mention he's an Earl with a self-made fortune?

A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?

And he's so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun.

But like I said, love isn't rooting for me.

When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I've dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.

It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived.

I might believe in love but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.

A standalone romance.

“I’ll never be enough, but I’m going to spend my life trying to be the man you say yes to.”

I’ve been waiting for Darcy’s story. To be fair, I’ll wait for anything Louise Bay wants to give me. And once again, she did not disappoint.

Country girl. City boy. From the outside looking in, Darcy and are too everything. Too different in their upbringing, their mindsets, their life goals and their personalities. But maybe the old adage that opposites attract really has something to it. Because from the second these two met, in an unconventional, yet perfect-for-them meet cute, sparks flew. And as each tried to deny their feelings, to dig up some reason why they shouldn’t be, there was no chance that Darcy and Logan wouldn’t end up together. Because opposites, or not, they were perfect for each other.

I loved that Darcy was independent, strong-willed and tenacious. And that she gave the stubborn, closed off Logan such a run for his money. The side characters- Logan’s grandmother, Darcy’s friend Aurora and her staff, the villagers of Woolton, and the cameos from Darcy’s brother Ryder, his wife, Scarlett, and their children, just added to the story. They provided the perfect sounding board for Logan and Darcy to attempt to come to terms with their budding relationship.

And so it turns out, they weren’t so different after all.
