I will never be controlled again.
A manipulative dragon shifter. A sexy phaetyn prince. Me? I shouldn’t even exist.

With peace established in Verald, I should be free; Lord Tyrrik is liberated from his blood oath, after all. But the freedom in Verald is an illusion. If I remain, destruction will surely follow.

As soon as I come into my powers, the blood-thirsty emperor of Draecon will know. Even now, he is hunting me.

When a Phaetyn prince arrives promising safety, the solution seems perfect. A little too perfect. But is the objective of our group security or something more? Because everyone is telling me what my goals should be.

Who do you trust when everyone has lied to you?

Should I listen with my head – or my heart?

I might not get a choice.

Shadow Wings is an all-nighter…

Raye Wagner and Kelly St. Clair team up again to produce a thrilling second installment of the “Darkest Drae Series”, Shadow Wings.  This high paced saga into a fantasy world of dragons and magic will keep you spell-bound.   Shadow Wings begins immediately where Blood Oath left off.  I didn’t realize this when I reread Blood Oath right before starting Shadow Wings, but it went seamlessly into the second which was the perfect transition.  I will probably reread books 1 & 2 when book three comes out not only to delve back into that world but, with an enthralling story and captivating characters, “The Darkest Drae Series” is a series that can be read multiple times.

To be honest, Shadow Wings, is even better than Blood Oathwhich I loved.  The story of Ryn, the Phaetyn/Drae mix, and Tyrrik, the terrifying Drae, is further developed resulting in a deeper understanding of them individually as well as the complex dynamics of the unstable and volatile world they must navigate.  The lies and deceptions, that were needed to survive the horrors of King Irdelron, are not enough to inhibit the cord of desire and love that bind Ryn and Tyr together.  That’s not to say that outside forces and their own stubborn pride don’t try to come between them, but the constant threat from the evil Emperor Draecon reminds them of what truly matters and what sacrifices that will need to be made if they ever hope to find peace and security.

The writing team of Raye and Kelly is also a winner.  They produce, what I consider, the perfect combination of intrigue, suspense, and attraction.  Their writing flows effortlessly and creates amazing worlds and creatures that you can’t help but find yourself totally immersed in.   They also achieve the perfect balance between intense situations, witty banter, and smokin’ hot attraction.  Everything about the characters, dialogue and story-line feels so natural that you totally forget you are reading a book.

And as an added bonus both book 1 & 2 of the “Darkest Drae Series” are available to read for free on

FYI, Shadow Wings, because of some themes,  is better suited for mature YA readers.
