One Night to Fall by Kelsey Kingsley
And I will never, ever, ever, ever, grow so old again…- Van Morrison ‘Sweet Thing’
Is it possible to find the love of your life at just three years old? Kelsey Kingsley weaves a tale of young love, teen egos and lost chances and wraps it all up in a love story three decades in the making.
Patrick Kinney, he of the Irish brogue, and all-American charm, fell for Kinsey McKenna when his family moved across the big pond and into the house next door. Although he was only three, that day laid the path for him to true love. A “marriage” ceremony at six, first kisses, first dances, and so much more, Kinsey was the only girl for him. Always. Even when a decision born out of anger, hurt and frustration sent his life in a direction he never would have seen coming. But Paddy Kinney won’t stop until the girl he loved then becomes the woman he’ll marry now.
Kinsey McKenna fell hard for the sharp-witted and silver-tongued Patrick. Beyond handsome,
Patrick was first and foremost her best friend. An amazing listener. A shoulder to cry on. And the one she thought she’d be with forever. But going away to college changed their day-to-day. And doubts and indecision started to creep into Kinsey’s mind causing her to make a spur of the moment choice that would undeniably alter her world.
Now the two are back in the same town again for the first time in a decade. And things are decidedly different. Patrick is a grown man. A respected member of the police force. And a
father. Kinsey is all woman.
Back to help her parents with their store after her father suffers a heart attack. And determined to not let Patrick Kinney crush her heart again. But Patrick won’t let go.
Can the two reconcile the past, come to an understanding about the present, and figure out a future? Does first love ever really go away? Ms. Kingsley artfully uses flashbacks, song lyrics, and a touch of the Irish, to create a heartwarming story about a second chance at first love.

Every day is a chaotic surprise in her house and reading is her stress reliever/escape hatch. She has enjoyed reading since she was very little, and loves a wide variety of genres, including everything from classics like Anna Karenina and Pride and Prejudice to sexy, smutty romance. She also enjoys coffee, chocolate, and wine, in that order throughout the day, and is very content any time she can go to the bathroom alone.
