Harper McFaddan has made her name as an investigative journalist by being both compassionate and fearless. After tragedy strikes her family, she moves to the shores of Lake Tahoe to find some peace. But when mysterious software mogul Jacob Latimer comes into her life, her thoughts turn from her own healing to an urgent need to get closer to him...
Jacob Latimer is the definition of a self-made man. The software entrepreneur built his corporation from nothing, but rumors abound about the shadiness of his rise to power and no one knows what secrets lurk in his past. Harper is the last person he should let into his life. As an investigative journalist, she’s the one person who could expose his hidden origins. But Jacob knows things about Harper’s past that make him irresistibly drawn to her. He wants nothing more than to make her his—and Jacob is a man who always gets what he wants...
Don’t miss the next installment, Make Me Tremble...
Soap Operas for the Kindle…bound to happen
Or maybe they are already out there and this is the first I’ve come across. Either way this definitely felt like I just watched a 30 minute soap. When I first started Make Me Forget and saw the percentage left to read I thought maybe I got sent a sample by accident. I figured I’d check it out after I started the book.
Make Me Forget is the first book in Beth Kery’s Make Me Seriel. It does a great job of introducing you to the story and main characters, Harper McFaddan and Jacob Latimer. There is the right amount of attraction at their initial meeting and the intrigue over both their pasts quickly hooks you on this book. They had a connection when they were little but something traumatic happened which thrust Harper and Jacob apart and set them on this course, where he can’t forget her and she doesn’t remember him.
Warning for those of you unfamiliar with Beth Kery, which included me, this is an adult book. And I mean, steamy find your significant other to release some tension hot.
And then….
I guess that’s the problem with any series, but this one seemed to get there way too quickly. If it was up to me I would wait till they were all out to read this series, but other people may enjoy the guaranteed installment every week for 8 weeks. The books are only $1.99 each so it could be your little treat. All that to say, I will be reading the next book because I really want to know what happened in their past. This story line has some great potential and I want to see if it lives up to my expectations. I’ll let you know…
Tanya’s love for books has been a lifelong passion that she likes sharing with others. Reading is also the thing that relaxes her after a day of juggling the many responsibilities that come with being being wife to an amazing man, mother to four great kids spread around the world, business manager, and farm hand on their place in southwest Missouri; home to Akaushi cattle and a menagerie of pygmy goats, horses, chickens, dogs and cats.
