Determined to be the best Beta he can, Rev has made sure to keep his distance from Martha, the female he knows to be his mate. He’s not sure he even knows how to be a decent mate to her. All that changes when the Alpha and the Coeur conspire to make sure that Martha and Rev both face what they’ve known to be true for so long. One look is all it takes, but there is so much more to being a mated couple than facing the claim. Martha is not ready to give up anything in her life, not even to make room for him. Rev is ready, but only as long as his female bends her life to fit into his. Pushing and pulling, each one will have to decide which is more important—the life they’ve built, or the one they could have together.
You’re never too old or set in your ways to find true happiness…
Hearten is book two in the Bayou Bear Chronicles by Lila Felix. While it is a continuation of the main plot line from Burden, this book revolves around the blossoming relationship of Martha and Rev, black bear shifters from the governing black bear clan.
Echo and Hawke, from Burden, become supporting characters as staunchly independent Martha and Rev come to terms with the perceived conflict between their ingrained lifestyles and newly formed mating. While they struggle with themselves and their growing attraction for the other they must help their pack repel a growing threat from the grizzlies.
Lila continues to grow as a YA paranormal writer in this book. Her characters fill out and the story continues to engage the reader. The relationship and dialog feels more natural and sincere. Engraven is the third and final book in the series and wraps up the clan struggles while following the lives of two other bear shifters.

Tanya’s love for books has been a lifelong passion that she likes sharing with others. Reading is also the thing that relaxes her after a day of juggling the many responsibilities that come with being being wife to an amazing man, mother to four great kids spread around the world, business manager, and farm hand on their place in southwest Missouri; home to Akaushi cattle and a menagerie of pygmy goats, horses, chickens, dogs and cats.
