WENT ROGUE, IN ALL THE RIGHT WAYS!
Relentless
Paranormal Romance
Karen Lynch
10/27/15
Sara Grey is done hiding and done being afraid. The Master thinks he has her running scared, but she’s taking matters into her own hands and taking her life back. With the help of her friends, she sets out to find the one person who can answer her questions about her past, and who may be able to lead them to the Master.
On her journey, Sara faces new challenges and dangers, and learns that the world of good and evil is not as clear cut as she had believed. She makes new friends, unexpected allies, and reconnects with people from her past. As her powers continue to change and grow, she transforms from a struggling girl into a strong young warrior.
But at what cost? How much is Sara willing to sacrifice in her need for independence and her quest for the truth? And will her newfound strength be enough to save her and the people she loves when she finally comes face-to-face with her powerful nemesis? Nothing could have prepared her for what is to come, and it will take everything in her to survive the final test of courage and love.
I’m not ashamed; I’m #GoingRogue.
So I admit that though this series kept coming up in my suggestions, I just sort of glazed by, even when friends on Facebook suggested it. I am not sure why exactly, but I just wasn’t into it.
And then, I was.
If you haven’t read the first two, block out some time and binge them because they are wonderfully written, inventive, and though they have a romance arc, it isn’t hitting you over the head.
Then read this one.
Rogue is impressive on so many levels. How do you end a well-loved series, giving people what they want while still surprising them, keeping things moving AND heating up the romance, all while keeping it decidedly PG-13? I don’t know. Ask Karen Lynch – the chick is a literary magician!
In this final escape to a universe in which demons live in some minds, and vampires terrorize an unknowing world whilst werewolves run Maine, you find yourself really BELIEVING this could be real, this could happen, these characters could exist. You WANT them to exist. You want a Nikolas who can slice and dice the bad guys and then come and hold you and cuddle you under a blanket, where your BFF is the most badass Mohiri chick ever, where you know amazing guys who hung out with Mozart.
You want all of it, and you don’t want it to end.
And then it does.
The good news is that when it DOES end, you aren’t disappointed. You feel satisfied, and full of awesome and you want to start from the beginning and read it all again… and you just might do it because it’s just that good…
It really is.
Thank you for this journey, Karen. I am mourning my loss of Sara and Nikolas but I hope that someone else can start this thrilling ride now too. =)
Meg, AKA the Queen Bee (QB) founded LitBuzz in 2015 as a way for her favorite authors to more-readily provide books to a legitimized reviewer. At the time, she never thought it would grow to include a dozen people, hundreds of authors and thousands of reviews.
Most of the time, you can find her with a bulldog at her feet in her home office in Pittsburgh, writing content or developing brand campaigns for clients – or sneaking a quick read of a new release.
She’s married to a great guy, has two amazing grown daughters and more animals than sense. 😉
